The Next Step in CT Diagnostics

New Applications at 'the speed of light'

With the acquisition of the new GE LightSpeed, a 16-slice CT scanner that utilizes high/variable speed scanning, Associated Radiologists can now offer a wide range of specialized diagnostic CT evaluations previously unavailable in an outpatient setting.

Cardiovascular Diagnostic Capabilities...

  • CT Angiography (CTA)

CTA is a new non-invasive approach to evaluating coronary blood vessels. It can detect and characterize coronary plaques in asymptomatic patients who have known cardiac risk factors. Compared to "catheter" angiography, CTA is much less invasive and more patient-friendly. Pulmonary and Renal arteries can be evaluated in the same way.

  • Coronary Artery Calcification (Cardiac Scoring)

This study detects coronary calcium, a specific market for CAD, and produces a clinically useful 'cardiac score' that correlates to CAD risk, even in patients with sub-clinical CAD.

...And More

Since the LightSpeed unit demonstrates superior CT imaging quality in ‘three dimensions’ with cross-sectional displays, it has excellent application to such CT studies as:

  • CT Colonography
  • Pulmonary Emboli
  • Stroke Assessment
  • Kidney, Liver, Lung exams
  • Oncologic evalutions
  • CT Enterography

Patient Friendly Exams

Due to the technical advances of this new CT, our patients will experience the advantages of less x-ray dose exposure, faster scan times, and fewer artifacts caused by movement.
