Dynamic pelvic floor mri

 

Pelvic floor dysfunction annually affects 300,000 to 400,000 women severely enough to require surgery.  Dysfunction of the pelvic floor may manifest as prolapse, incontinence, pelvic pain, or constipation.

Pelvic Floor MR images show in exquisite detail the posterior, middle and anterior compartments of the pelvis.  This exam also provides physiologic information by imaging both at rest and dynamically during strain and post evacuation.

 

This exam is especially beneficial in diagnosing multi-compartmental disorders and post surgical recurrence.

 

The referring physician should specify “Dynamic Pelvic Floor MRI” on the prescription.
